Indulgences are fun, but when you need to eat healthy, head to sweetgreen in NoMad.
This quick service salad and wrap restaurant is strong on one particular practice among others, sustainability. Their food is organic and local, proteins are hormone free, antibiotic free and all-natural, they use 100% plant-based compostable packaging non derived from oil, and they use reclaimed and FSC certified materials in the construction of their store. Pretty impressive, huh?
The ordering process is like an assembly line, either picking one of the signature salads and wraps, or creating your own.
Then, the salads get lined up, ready to be mixed and dressed.
I created my own salad with organic mesclun, local apples, mushrooms, raw beets and roasted sweet potatoes. Most places usually serve up roasted beets, but if you haven’t had raw beets before, you absolutely must. I actually prefer them, they have a great crispness and crunch. They also have their own brand of pressed juices and frozen yogurt with fresh toppings.

The Long and Short: Would I go back? Well, it’s not my first time here…I guess you could call me somewhat of a regular.
Would I recommend it? Definitely. And make sure to try the Cucumber Limeade. Fresh.
