Cadbury Creme Egg Cookies

IMG_0138

I love scratch baking as much as the next person who loves scratch baking. But, sometimes we get busy and don’t really have the time to make fancy treats. Easter is on Sunday, and whether you celebrate it or not, who doesn’t love the candy and sweets? Seriously, who. So, here’s a fun and super simple little recipe you can whip up in no time for the kiddies, friends, yourself, the Easter Bunny, whoever!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • cookie dough (I bought Sugar Cookie dough)
  • 1 Cadbury Creme Egg per cookie (amount will depend on how many cookies you make)
  • food coloring (optional)

The cookie dough should have all the basic baking instructions on the packaging, but usually you’ll pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F. Then, this is optional, but if you want to make your cookies more spring like, you can add some food color to the dough to give it some pizazz. Configure it however you’d like, I rolled out the dough into two pieces, blue and pink, and arranged them into one flat piece.

Next, take your Cadbury egg and place it in the center of the dough.

Fold the dough around the egg to seal it up inside.

Place the dough on a baking sheet and pop in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Let the cookie cool on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes.

Remove the cookie from the baking sheet to cool for a few more minutes. Then, it’s ready to eat!
