Summer. Ice Cream season. Let’s do this. I was off to get my fix at Emack & Bolio’s on the Upper East Side. 

Since 1975, they’ve been making homemade ice cream with unique and delicious flavors in Boston. Now, with locations around the country and even some internationally, you can get yourself a scoop of their ice cream, or yogurt, and have it on one of their premium, fancy cereal rimmed cones.

Everything sounded amazing, but I had to choose, so I went for their Cosmic Crunch (Vanilla Ice Cream, Caramel Swirl, Chocolate Chips, Walnuts, Cookies) on a Rice Krispies Cone. Let’s not even waste time getting sophisticated with an in depth description. This ruled. The ice cream was rich and creamy, and dynamic with all the flavors and textures added in, and the cone was a dessert in itself, a crisp vanilla waffle cone rimmed in Rice Krispie treat. Nothing here to complain about.

The Long and Short: Would I go back? For sure, there’s a huge flavor list, so, I definitely have my work cut out for me. Also, shameless plug, their Miami Beach location now stocks Squish Marshmallows!
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Their story is really great too, starting as a basement production for musicians and late night snackers to get their fix, all while standing for great causes and equality.
