Marshmallow Crispy Treats

crispies

I recently incorporated this really easy recipe on the Squish Marshmallows site, and wanted to add it here too. You only need three ingredients, all of which you can use for other things, and it hardly takes any time at all, so, everyone wins.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 5 cups of crispy rice cereal
  • 4 cups of Squish Marshmallows (or around 20 marshmallows), here I used Peanut Butter Jelly Time
  • 1/4 cup butter

This will make around 12-15 squares. But, the recipe can also be split in half to 2.5 cups of cereal, 10 marshmallows, 2 tbs of butter.

Have a 13×9″ baking pan ready (if you’re cutting this recipe in half, you can use a smaller baking pan, or, only fill up the 13×9″ pan half way. The ingredients will stick together and can be easily formed!)

In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter at a low heat setting. Once the butter is melted, add in the Squish Marshmallows of your choice. Stir the mixture until everything is melted together, about 2 minutes.

Once everything is melted together, remove the sauce pan from the heat. Pour in the cereal and stir until everything is combined.

Pour out the mixture into the baking pan, and with a greased spatula, press the mixture to form a rectangular shape in the pan.

Let cool and cut into sizes and shapes of your choice! Yum!

Costal Maine Popcorn Co.

One of my most favorite snacks is popcorn. Truth. I’m totally ok with some plain ‘ole popped corn, but I truly enjoy the unique and different varieties out there. Well, passing by on a stroll in Portland, ME, it was fate. I approached Costal Maine Popcorn Co. and had to stop in.

Upon entering, you’ll see huge bags full of popcorn, but don’t let that overwhelm you, they have smaller bag sizes once you work your way in the store. They have a number of classic and unique flavors to choose from, both savory and sweet.

I got a small bag of their Chocolate Macaroon. I really enjoyed this. What I liked the most, was that this wasn’t some super sweet coated popcorn. You know, the kind where you have a couple handfuls and you’re nauseated. This had a more pure, chocolate cocoa flavor, delicately glazed too with a really nice coconut flavor, really giving you the taste of a chocolate dusted macaroon.
