Fresh, delicious British food? Yes, you can find it at The Fat Radish on the Lower East Side.
The restaurant itself has a clean design, rustic and set in cool, neutral tones. And although not everything on the menu screams “British”, you can find continental dishes along with some classic items like their Berkshire Pork Sausage from the dinner menu, or the Full English Breakfast on the brunch menu.
Off of the brunch menu, I ordered The Fat Radish Plate, Seasonal Market Vegetables (heirloom carrots, squash, Japanese turnips, kale, cipollini onions, sweet potato, hijiki, brown rice, adzuki beans, tahini dressing, carrot ginger puree, pickled cabbage). Everything on this plate is steamed, so it’s a totally healthy and delicious meal. The veggies are thick-cut, giving it a rustic feel. The dressings go really great too, I especially loved the tahini dressing, a bit creamier and sweeter than others that I’ve had.
