Shake Shack

What actually started out as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park, Shake Shack has now become quite a NYC staple. And now, with locations scattered over the Nation and even Internationally, you don’t have to be in NYC to enjoy the food and treats. But, I went to their O.G. location in Madison Square Park.

They’re best known for their all-natural burgers and their shakes, but they also offer another stand-out item, their frozen custards. Now, the lines for Shake Shack can get pretty aggressive. Like, really long. But, a little insider tip, if you’re just planning on enjoying a shake, custard or beverage, hop on to the C-Line, an express line just for all things cold. You might look like you’re cutting the line, but it’s totally legal and you can look like a bad ass while all the other people wait in line.

So, to the C-Line I went and ordered their Frozen Custard, more specifically their Concrete (dense frozen custard ice cream blended at high speeds with mix-ins). They have a rotating list of flavors, featuring a different daily flavor. I had the Biscuits and Jam and added a Peanut Butter Sauce mix-in. I made a really good decision with the PB sauce. This was so super delicious, it deserves a cape. It’s rich and creamy, with a consistency somewhere between ice cream and a milk shake. The flavor had a subtly biscuit flavor with the sweetness and berry flavor from the jam. With the sauce, it was pretty much like eating a PB&J biscuit sandwich. Brilliant.

The Shorts:
Name: Shake Shack
Location: Madison Square Park, NYC
The Long and Short: Would I go back? For sure. With a different flavor each day, and a couple handfuls of mix-ins, I have quite the combinations to get into.
Would I recommend it? Definitely. And, if you’re curious what the line outside is stacking up to be, you can always get your spy on and check out their Shack Cam to see realtime updates.
