OddFellows Ice Cream Co.

Yesterday, I took a trip over to OddFellows Ice Cream Co. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I’ve been meaning to go since its opening this summer, and finally made it. Walking in, you feel transported back a few decades to an old-time ice cream parlor, from the decor to the employee’s old-school uniforms.

And, the ice cream is just as unique as the design. Everything is locally sourced, homemade, and the flavors are definitely different from what you’d see in other places. With small batches, you gotta get it while it’s available! Looking at the menu online, there are definitely some flavors I wish I could have tried. But with flavors like Olive Oil and Sprinkles, you know you’re in for something original.

I chose S’Mores and Burnt Carmel. What’s great about the ice cream here, is that you can really taste the ingredients. It’s not over-sweetened, just simple, yet unique, flavors that are the stars of the ice cream, instead of super high milk fat and sugar.

I’ll support any place that gives back too. With every scoop of ice cream sold, a small portion goes toward the Food Bank of New York City. So, between my friend and I, at 4 scoops, we donated a hot meal to someone in need. Delicious and good deeds. Boom.
