Everyone always hears about “real New York cheesecake”. So, where are you supposed to find it? Well, you can start at Eileen’s Special Cheesecake in NoLIta.
Eileen’s has been open since 1975, serving classing cheesecakes and an array of other flavors from red velvet to salted caramel. Now, I’ve had lots of cheesecake in my life. Like, a lot. And there are lots of different types out there. Some very heavy and dense, and if Cheesecake Factory is the only kind you’ve ever had, I won’t allow you to even call that cheesecake.
To get an accurate taste of what these cheesecakes had to offer, I went for the O.G., classic cheesecake. This, was some delicious cheesecake. It’s light, airy and has a whipped texture. It has just the right amount of sweetness and silky creaminess. The crust has a great and light consistency too, buttery and almost cookie like in flavor.
The Shorts:
